Elected officials have best deal

-A +A
I would like to have the same health insurance that taxpayers pay for our elected officials. They do not make co-payments or have deductibles. The taxpayers pay up to $6,000 a year for their staff. I am talking about federal, state and county elected officials — and taxpayers pay every dime. Yet these very officials received: Feinstein — $2 million; Boxer — $1.8 million; and McClintock — $308,000 from health care lobbyists. Now people are saying health care is a government takeover. Yeah, the elected officials took over your tax dollars and took care of themselves. If they thought it was so wrong, why don’t they refuse to be in the government health care system and buy their own? They can afford it. Dink Lane, Garden Valley
