Fallen fighters overlooked

I was reading about the parade that I missed this morning because I have been ill. In the afternoon I drove to the cemeteries here in Auburn expecting to see flags on the graves of our veterans and found just a few put on by family members. In the 1800s the townspeople used to take their buggies and march to the cemeteries to decorate the veterans’ graves. It made me sad not to see more done at our cemeteries for the veterans. I was prepared to take pictures of flags waving in the breeze but got a picture of one lonely flag that seems out of place by itself. Just thought maybe people should know they’re always there waiting to be celebrated. Glenda Naleway, Auburn
