Fish expert Moyle to speak at Sierra College

Renowned fish expert to speak on Sierra Nevada Trout and Salmon at Sierra College Dr. Petery Moyle will speak on the topic of Sierra Nevada Trout and Salmon April 10 at Sierra College. The lecture begins at 6 p.m. and is part of the college's Sierra Nevada lecture series. Moyle has been studying the ecology and conservation of freshwater and estuarine fishes in California since 1969. In recent years, much of his research has focused on understanding and revising the effects of alien fish invasions in California waters as well as developing conservation strategies for native fishes in California streams and estuaries. Moyle's lecture will cover the historic range of species in the Sierra Nevada and other issues, such as transplanting, dams, water quality, frogs and Central Valley salmon decline. The public is invited to the free lecture, which will be held in the campus Library/Learning Resource Center in room LRC 107.
