Food trucks roll their way back into discussion at Monday’s Auburn City Council meeting. A second public hearing on new rules for their operation on private property as well as an ordinance for public right of way are on the agenda. The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at City Hall. The Council met a month ago for the first public hearing, after which it ordered a second version of the private property rules to be drafted. One version bans mobile food vendors from both Old Town and Downtown Auburn, while the new “Alternate A” prohibits them from Old Town but allows them Downtown. The authorization of nearly a half million dollars for a new fire engine is on the Council’s consent calendar as well.
