Forest Lake volleyball avenges loss to Woodland

The Forest Lake Christian volleyball team bolstered its playoff position with a 25-14, 25-18, 25-21 win over Woodland Christian Tuesday night at home. The Falcons had lost to the Cardinals earlier this season, but senior Morghan Pomeroy came up with nine kills and seven blocks to spark Forest Lake (7-3 Central Valley Christian League). Laura Ritchart added five kills while Caitlin Hanson chipped in with seven kills and eight digs. Molly Huusfeldt hustled for 17 digs and Christy Johnston had 13 digs for the Falcons. Jen Menary dished out 24 assists and served up 23 points to go with 13 digs. In junior varsity action, Forest Lake beat Woodland Christian 25-9, 28-26 to improve to 8-1 in the CVCL. Tennis Rocklin 5, Del Oro 4 at Loomis — The Golden Eagles lost a tight match to the Thunder, falling into third place in the Sierra Foothill League. Brynn Bacharach won 7-5, 6-1 at No. 1 singles to lead Del Oro. Haley Shaban had a 6-1, 6-2 win, Ellen Watson rallied for a 2-6, 7-5, 6-2 win and Danielle Walker pulled out a 6-0, 5-7, 6-1 victory.
