-A +A
The Gold Country Rose Society will host a rose-pruning clinic at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at the Bell Road Memorial Rose Garden in Auburn. The public is invited. There is no charge. Attendees may simply observe the Rose Society members who will be actively pruning all of the various types of rose bushes in the garden, or attend presentations throughout the morning on subjects such as “Pruning for maximum bloom,” “Tips on avoiding root-suckers,” “Prevention of insects & disease” and “Sharpening the pruners.” Consulting rosarians, who have been certified by the American Rose Society, will share their knowledge and gardening experiences. The Memorial Rose Garden and the Military Memorial Rose Garden are open to the public, and are located adjacent to the parking area behind the Bell Road Baptist Church.
