The 9th annual National Street Rod Association Golden State Street Rod Nationals will beheld Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1-3 at Cal Expo in Sacramento. Spectators can see more than 1,600 street rods, muscle cars, custom cars, trucks and specialty vehicles from all over the western United States and farther, each manufactured more than 30 years ago. A variety of cars and trucks in attendance will range in value from $8,000 to $100,000, each with an average of $28,000 per vehicle. The vehicles will be on display for public viewing throughout the day, while entered in a variety of driving and non-driving games and events. The model car contest promises to be bigger than ever, with various classes for all ages. A special display of tether cars each and every day, with these miniature race cars reaching speeds of 130 mph. Additional games and activities will be featured throughout the weekend for all ages as well. Live entertainment will perform during the day and night. More than $78,000 in super prize giveaways, plus the special "NSRA Sunday $weep$take$" giveaway presented to the participants of the Golden State Street Rod Nationals, all compliments of the National Street Rod Association. More than 60 manufacturers and dealers of specialty automotive equipment will be displaying and selling parts, accessories and supplies in the spacious exhibit building, along with an outdoor midway area during the three days of the event. A special "Women's World" arts and crafts faire will feature nearly 60 of the areas finest artisans. All activities open to the public. Hours for the show are Friday and Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission prices are $14 per adult, $5 per child (6-12 years), and children 5 years and under free when accompanied by an adult.
