You’re never too young to have good taste. A handful of area chefs-in-training have spent the start of their summer vacation in the kitchen, learning how to chop, dice, brush and whisk ingredients in order to create recipes kids of all ages would love. Through Kid Chefs Culinary Boot Camp, offered through Auburn Recreation District and taught by Terry Masten, youngsters have learned, in the last couple days, how to make dishes including turkey melts, chilaquiles, mini pizzas on artisan bread, panzanella, chocolate fondue and more. Today marks the third and final day of the camp. “They’ve been learning professional tips and techniques,” said Masten, a private chef. Rylee Sanders, 12, of Foresthill, has had a lot of fun. “I like that we get to meet other people, and you get to learn to cook fun things so you can make them at home,” she said.
