Load up the bus, food closet

-A +A
Twice a year on a Saturday, an Auburn public bus goes to Raley’s or the SaveMart off Elm Street. As people go in the store, volunteers ask them to buy four or five extra cans of food. They bring the food to the bus, and more volunteers sort and pack the food. At the end of the day, the food goes to the Auburn (Interfaith) Food Closet. They wouldn’t have to put a bus in front of a store and ask people to donate if they were getting enough direct donations. You may give to different charity groups, but, when you give to the food closet, it gives the people who live on your street or people you have met. Please give to the food closet or to the “Stuff the Bus” when it comes around. KEVIN DILLON, student, Auburn
