Nearly 105,000 tickets matched enough numbers in last night’s Fantasy 5 draw to win at least the minimum prize, a free play, but only one lucky ticket sold in Placer County was worth the coveted six-figure jackpot.

That top prize was claimed Tuesday by Delmar Casler, whose ticket successfully matched all five numbers – 24, 10, 15, 16 and 7 – and is worth $343,878. Casler bought his ticket at Rocklin AM/PM, 4500 Rocklin Road, according to a release from California Lottery.

Store Manager Sonia Diaz said that to her knowledge, this is the second time the store has sold a top-prize Fantasy 5 ticket. She said she received the call that the ticket was a winner Tuesday morning.

“I was excited,” she said. “It’s nice to know that someone won from here, and it’s one of our regular customers, so that’s even nicer.”

A woman who answered the phone at Casler’s residence said he did not wish to discuss his win.

Fantasy 5 offers some of the best odds of any California Lottery game. A player wins the Fantasy 5 jackpot simply by matching five numbers out of a field of 39. Winning numbers are drawn every day. The top prize starts at $50,000 and increases daily until it is hit. Tickets are $1 and can be purchased from any of the more than 21,000 California Lottery retailers.

The California Lottery reminds winners to sign the back of their tickets, keep tickets in a safe place and contact lottery officials or visit their local Lottery District Office as soon as possible. Winners have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim prizes.
