Microchipping pets is vital

I read the article about the cat that is burned and his owners haven’t gotten him yet (Journal, Sept. 3). I volunteer at The Cat House on D Avenue. We do microchipping for any animal every first Sunday of the month. I think after this people should think about spending the $25 that it costs and get their animal microchipped. Their name would be in the system and it would help the shelters or vets know who their owners are. Jennifer Picha, Weimar
