No surprise in Rush rudeness

It is interesting how surprised people are about Rush Limbaugh’s coarseness in discussing Sarah Fluke recently. As far back as the early Clinton era when the Clintons got a cat for their young teenage daughter, Chelsea, that prompted Mr. Limbaugh to announce that the family didn’t need another pet as Chelsea was already the White House dog. His true colors were shown that early. This ongoing disgusting diatribe has been incessant ever since in varying degrees to the delight of his ever-approving audience. Until the time, if it ever comes, when civil discourse can be reintroduced to our intellectual differences, the degradation of conservatism should make us recall Joseph Welsh’s unforgettable statement to Sen. Joseph McCarthy during those hearings when he stated to unanimous applause from the gallery, “I never really gauged your cruelty or your recklessness.” “Have you no sense of decency, sir?” I doubt if Mr. Limbaugh or many of his ilk will ever get it.
