Welcome to the Auburn Journal’s “Noon Hour Update,” where we’ll present you with stories and updates on what’s going on in the news and what we’re working on for our Tuesday edition.

What we’re working on: The results are in from the necropsy done on the mountain lion that stalked a hiker recently near Colfax. Reporter Gus Thomson will have a story on the results. Gus will also have a preview on what’s on the agenda for Tuesday’s Placer County Board of Supervisors meeting.

Some local students have advanced to the state level of the Destination Imagination education competition. Reporter Andrew Westrope has a story on those that have made it, how they got there and what the competition entails.

The Auburn City Council meets tonight and they will hear reports on the city’s financial status, the fire department’s medical response and the progress of its housing element. Reporter Jon Schultz will be at the meeting and will have a piece on the items discussed.

What you’re talking about:  Stories you’ve been commenting on from the weekend include our piece on the Foresthill community’s reaction to the release of the Robbers Fire suspect, and our follow-up to the town-hall meeting on Immigration. Read these stories and more and share your views.
