Odom leads charge as Placer ends spring on a high note

Laurel Odom made sure the Placer High girls soccer team went out on a high note despite the downpour at Le Febvre Stadium Friday night. Odom opened the scoring and added two assists in the second half as Placer beat Lincoln 3-1 in its season finale. Junior Celeste Havener broke a 1-1 tie early in the second half, scoring off an assist from Odom. Sophomore Emma Obray added an insurance goal late in the game. A.J. Furlong and Lizzie Phillips teamed up to get the win in the net. Senior Kelly Viray led the defensive effort as the Hillgals finished 6-5-1 in the Pioneer Valley League and 9-9-3 overall. Obray led Placer with nine goals this season. Odom finished with a team-high eight assists.
