Parade warmed all who watched

On Saturday night (Dec. 4) the streets were lined with thousands of spectators, the Auburn Police Department along with volunteers were stationed on the route and the weather held long enough to welcome the 2010 Festival of Lights Parade. It was a magical night filled with lighted floats and the warmth that the holiday season brings to our city. It is Santa who makes a special trip to be here (thanks, St. Nick!) and the children who scream and wave with excitement that turns our town into a time long past. None of this would be possible without the generous donations of our sponsors, the gift of time and talent of the volunteers, city employees, police department and each parade participant who built a float and entered the parade. On behalf of the Auburn Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Festival of Lights Parade Committee, I wish to thank you and wish to all a very Merry Christmas! Steve Galyardt, chairman, Festival of Lights Parade
