People before park upgrades

We hear repeated talk about funding for parks and city improvements, but we don’t hear about the human element. All of this is useless, wasted time. There are more important things than recreation and sports activities. What about considering the welfare of the general public? Why don’t we spend money on helping their lives? We need to stop this useless chatter and energy and focus on the needs of the people, especially the homeless. When we ignore everyday struggles, all we are doing is spinning our wheels. An opportunity to help is an opportunity gained. Let’s reach out and do something for one another. ALLEN CASSIDY, Auburn
