PJH Midgets clinch playoff berth

The Placer Junior Hillmen Midgets are headed to the Sierra Youth Football playoffs after beating Natomas 34-6 to clinch a postseason berth last week. Kelton McDonald started the scoring with a 2-yard run to cap a 67-yar drive. Cameron Scott scored a rushing touchdown from 3 yards out for Placer’s second score while Todd Valliere caught a 22-yard TD pass from Logan Strange to put the Junior Hillmen on top 20-0. Valliere added a 48-yard touchdown run and Matt O’Brian added the final TD on a 2-yard pass from Strange. O’Brian, Valliere and Colter Steinhimer had interceptions. while Sammy Queen and Colton Blackwell teamed up for a sack. The Junior Hillmen (3-3) will play at Bear River on Saturday to close out the regular season.
