Placer blanks Center for 61st straight PVL win

The Placer High tennis team shut out Center 9-0 Thursday for its second Pioneer Valley League win of the week and 61st in a row. Steven Fraguglia and Blair Meyer coasted to singles wins, as did Tina Humble and Claire McInerny. In boys doubles, Brandon Carducci and Brendan Axelbaum won 6-3, 6-3. Derek Ikeda and Andrew Dahlin won in straight sets. On the girls side, Kirstin Schauble and Lindsey Holden posted a shutout. Romy Behunova and Tawny Thomsen were also winners. Logan Thomsen and Bronte Haskins teamed up for a mixed doubles win for the Hillmen, who will face Vista Del Lago in a non-league match Monday in Folsom.
