Placer freshman football wins big

Hillmen run over Bulldogs
The Placer High freshman football team defeated the Gridley Bulldogs 48-12 on Thursday night after turning in a remarkable 35 points by halftime. Hillmen quarterback Logan Strange had one touchdown pass on 5-8 passing. Running back Todd Valleire had 115 yards on the ground and rushed for three touchdowns and a two point conversion. Cameron Scott rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns to go with two sacks on the defensive end. Offensively, big plays were made by Noah Daly who returned a punt 48 yards for a touchdown, and Austin LeBleu with a 37 yard touchdown run. Defensively, Zach Phillps, Phillip Tuttle, and Sam Queen came up big for Placer, holding Gridley to just six points until the last few minutes of the game. The Placer High freshmen will be at home next week to take on the Sutter Huskies at Lefebvre Stadium.
