Placer fundraiser golf tourney at Black Oak

Black Oak Golf Course will host a fundraiser golf course for Placer High athletics on March 18 at 2 p.m.
Cost for the tournament is $50 and includes nine holes of golf, range balls, cart and a chicken dinner. Raffle tickets and mulligans are available. There will be prizes for closest to the pin and longest drive. Athlete sponsors and hole sponsors are available.

Placer Wrestling Club holding signups
The Placer Wrestling Club will hold signups for the upcoming season on Thursday, March 1 at Round Table Pizza in Elm Ave. in Auburn from 7 p.m. to 9.
The club is open to children ages 4 to 12. Registration fee is $65 for the season and includes a USA Wrestling Card. Practices begin March 6 at E.V. Cain Middle School and will be held Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:30 p.m. to 8.

American Legion Post 84 Seafood Dinner March 3
The annual American Legion Post 84 Seafood Dinner fundraiser is set for March 3 at the Sierra Building at the Gold Country Fairgrounds.
The event will raise funds for the Post 84 baseball program. It begins with a no-host bar at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7. Crab, jumbo prawns, clams, salad, French bread and shrimp cocktail will be served. There will be raffle prizes and a silent auction.

Auburn Endurance Capital Marathon April 22
The inaugural Auburn Endurance Capital Marathon is slated for Sunday, April 22.
The 26.2-mile race will feature a course that loops through Auburn, starting and finishing at ARD’s Recreation Park. The event will also include options for relays in different divisions, a 5K fun run and a kids run.
There will be prizes awarded to winners of each age division and many aid stations along the route. Cost is $90 for individual runners and $120 for three-person relay teams who sign up before Feb. 29. Between March 1 and April 1, registration fee is $110 for individuals and $125 for relay teams. After April 1, registration is $125 for individuals and $150 for relay teams. Registration fee for the 5K is $30.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Auburn and ARD’s Youth Assistance Fund.

Bear River rec hoops tournament in March
The Bear River Recreation and Park District will host its fourth annual Rec Basketball Tournament for fourth through eighth graders beginning March 9 at Magnolia and Cottage Hill Schools.
The tournament is open to girls and boys teams. No school, club or AAU teams are allowed. There is a maximum of 10 players per team and each team is guaranteed three games.
