The Placer High girls track and field squad nailed down at least a share of the Pioneer Valley League championship Wednesday with an easy win over Foothill.
The Hillgals mostly rested up in preparation for Friday’s Nevada Union Invitational, and next week’s PVL Championships at Center. They still managed a 69-25 win over the Mustangs to finish 5-0 in PVL duals this season.
Becky Feis led a sweep in the discus that included a career-best 75 foot, 11-inch throw from freshman Robin Adams.
On the boys side, Placer defeated Foothill 99-30 to finish 4-1 in the PVL. Junior Beau Babcock provided the highlight of the day with a personal best of 12-6 in the pole vault.
Ryan Dawson leaped 38-3 to win the triple jump in his first action in the event. The Hillmen swept the discus with James Hubbard leading the way with a mark of 144 feet. Nathan Swisley (126-5) was second and Lance Burton (124-9) was third.

Forest Lake 4, Delta 1
