By: Journal Sports Staff
The Placer High wrestling squad rebounded from its first Pioneer Valley League loss in three seasons with a 48-26 win over Foothill at Earl Crabbe Gym Tuesday night. The Hillmen (3-1) are hoping Colfax can stun league-leading Lincoln tonight, which would give Placer a share of the PVL title. Against Foothill, Andrew Naleway (135 pounds), Joe Thornton (145), Scott Dietz (152) and Mark Looney (160) had pins. Justin Mason won by technical fall at 112. Mike Valdez, Clayton Baker and Steven Cox scored forfeits for the Hillmen. In junior varsity action Placer beat Foothill, led by wins from Andrew Wong (125), Ryan Keller (112), Kelsey Johnson (119), Jacob Limon (135) and Brendan Packheiser (152).
