AUBURN CA - Placer County Water Agency’s general manager has been recognized for his work in building positive relationships as an official with the Association of California Water Agencies.

David Breninger was presented with a proclamation from the association at a meeting of the agency board last Thursday in Auburn.

Tim Quinn, executive director of the statewide association, made the presentation honoring Breninger for his leadership on state and national water resources issues.

The commendation, approved by the association board in November, recognizes Breninger for his service on the National Water Resources Association board of directors, executive committee and chair of the U.S. association’s municipal caucus in 2012.

In part, the commendation reads that during his time as chairman, Breninger “performed critical leadership duties” while building positive partnerships for the state association.

Breninger has served as Water Agency general manager since 1992. He manages the agency’s multifaceted water resources, which include a 224-megawatt hydroelectric system of dams and power plants on the Middle Fork of the American River.

In addition, Breninger is executive director of the Middle Fork Project Finance Authority.
