Please don’t quote half-truths

Robert Wahl (Reader Input, Nov. 22), in his rebuke of Herb Tanimoto, perpetuates a popular and totally false statement: The Democrats bailed out the “fat cats.” It actually was President George W. Bush who signed the bailout into law. I don’t think he was ever a Democrat. Mr. Wahl, it’s important, if you want to be taken seriously, to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth (thanks, Sergeant Friday). Cherry-picking facts and repeating falsehoods and half-truths stands in the way of intelligent discussion. Patricia Burke, Newcastle
