Three local non-profit organizations — the Auburn Placer Performing Arts Center, the Boys & Girls Club of Placer County and the Friends of Vinh Son Montagnard Orphanage gratefully acknowledge the success with their fundraiser concert staged at Thunder Valley Casino-Resort on March 30.
Featured artists were John and Dee Price and the Rhythm Riders band, known regionally and abroad for their Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline tribute show.
A fundraiser for the coalition of the three non-profits, doing business as “Arts and Kids,” the effort was termed a complete success by co-chairs Glenda Gonzales and Bart Ruud.
Thunder Valley Casino-Resort business development manager Jon Bow was equally pleased with the reception of this show by our community at large. The beneficiaries each realized significant funds for their use to sustain artistic training and kids both locally and abroad.
Community support by local major sponsors, especially Richard Azevedo and Associates, Community 1st Bank, Sutter Health, Don Robinson Sand and Gravel, Maki Heating & Air Conditioning, Tokutomi & Caruthers, AWI Management Corporation, North Valley Bank and Umpqua Bank is gratefully acknowledged by all who worked to organize the Rhythm Riders performance.
Finally, the “Arts & Kids” planning committee wishes to thank the many patrons who elected to support the fundraiser through their attendance. The audience of nearly 1,000 was a near record performance at the Pano Hall venue. The full house was a great testimonial to the Rhythm Riders vocalists and band members who delivered sterling entertainment from their opening chord to the last note strummed.
