Reader Input: Killers get away with murder

-A +A

While reading the Oct. 23 Journal, I was surprised by the article, “Seven experts convicted for not warning of Italian quake risk.”

I have to wonder, why were these people convicted of manslaughter, when another kind of murder is going on that lets criminals go free?

Every day, an estimated 3,315 American citizens are brutally murdered, (2005 numbers, source, Guttmacher Institute — a pro-abortion organization). This amounts to about 1.21 million people per year.

Every day, thousands of women pay a “doctor” to murder their child. Worldwide, there are an estimated 42 million murders of this kind every year.

This is the reality of abortion. This is not manslaughter, this is premeditated murder. Why are these murderers not being prosecuted? Why is failure to warn people of an earthquake considered manslaughter, but the actual slaughter of unborn, healthy children is not considered murder?

Do these people really think they are going to get away with this? The Bible says that the Lord hates “hands that shed innocent blood” (Proverbs 6:17), and that all murderers shall have their part in the lake of fire.

The only way for America to escape God’s wrath is to repent of this wickedness, and turn to God for forgiveness.

“The Lord is ... not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).
