Reader Input: Prop. 30 solved state’s woes

-A +A

Admittedly I voted against Gov. (Jerry) Brown’s Proposition 30. The positive to passage of the Prop. 30 tax increase is that Gov. Brown diagnosed the chronic budget deficit in California as a revenue problem. Because of the Prop. 30 tax increase, California will no longer have a budget deficit — problem solved!

In addition, because of the passage of Prop. 30, schools have all the money they need. We will no longer hear about the schools needing money—between Prop 30 and the lottery, schools have more money than they can possibly spend.

Thank you. Gov. Brown for completely solving the California budget deficit problem and giving a huge financial windfall to the schools!
