I appreciate that the Auburn Journal tries to give space for a broad spectrum of opinions, but is it really necessary to print a rant like the latest one from Dee Nann (“We need a new president,” Reader Input, July 10)? This kind of hate-filled speech has already done so much damage to our political discourse and our country.
There have certainly been presidents whose policies I have strongly disapproved of, but never would I have referred to any of them as “the jackass.” It’s more than disrespectful; it’s obscene.
Ms. Nann says she is proud of her religious heritage, but perhaps she might go back and read Matthew 5:44.
