Redistribute wealth to help homeless

Here are some suggestions on how to deal with the homeless problem: 1) Use proceeds from the Amgen bike race (and other Auburn events) to finance homeless projects; 2) Use a percentage of property taxes to provide housing; 3) Use a percentage of county employee pension funds to finance housing and medical care; 4) Divert “Streetscape” funds to finance local social services. The problem of the needy will not go away until we deal with it. If not today or tomorrow, we need solutions, not denial. This Band-Aid approach is insufficient. There needs to be a permanent solution and this should be based on the redistribution of wealth. ALLEN CASSIDY, Auburn
