Reading over the letters to the Journal yesterday, it’s funny how one letter evoked so much passion for a wall (“Auburn ‘mural’ disappoints,” Vance T. Sauter, Reader Input, March 4). Yes, that is part of being involved in the community, to be able to comment on someone’s letter — yet they can’t seem to follow the fact that some did not get his name right, or that he’s even an artist — where did this information come from? (Editor’s note: Letter writer is referring to online comments.) It came from each other feeding off the other’s comments. The wonderful thing about living in a free society —that we have the opportunity to express our opinions even if we don’t have to support our opinions with the weight of our convictions.
