Seen & Heard: Placer Kids honors Jenkins family

-A +A
Placer County is honored to present its September Foster Family of the Month, the Jenkins family. Scott and Donna Jenkins became foster parents in October 2000 after attending training classes at Placer Kids in Auburn. Since that time not only have they adopted two wonderful children –– Wayde, age 12 and Rebecca, age 7 –– but they have enjoyed taking care of other foster children in their home and have been active members, and officers, of the Foster & Adoptive Parents Association of Placer County. The Jenkins state, “Not only are we thankful to Placer Kids for the chance to start our family, but cherish the wonderful opportunity it has given us to develop new lifelong friendships with other foster care families in Placer County. We are grateful for the chance to help so many children in our community.” If you are interested in more information about foster care or adoption, the first step is to attend the orientation meeting, which is held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. the third Thursday of the month at Placer Kids, 11990 Heritage Oaks Place, suite 3. Childcare is provided free of charge by calling (530) 886-2893 to reserve a space.
