I am writing this letter in support of Ken Tokutomi who is a candidate for the Placer County Office of Education Board of Trustees, a position he has successfully and faithfully served in for the past eight years. When I came to Auburn in 1996 Ken was one of the first people I met. At that time he expressed a strong interest in developing an after-school program for E.V. Cain students. As president of the board of directors (a position he still holds) of the Salvation Army he strongly supported a partnership with the Auburn Elementary School District and the Boys & Girls Club of Auburn to bring an after-school program to E.V. Cain. As I have followed his multiple efforts to support our local community, I have marveled at his energy, commitment and connections throughout Auburn and beyond. At this difficult time in education it is important to have strong, independent leaders. Ken is such a leader. I encourage you to vote for him in the upcoming election. Vince Anaclerio, Newcastle
