Tourist kiosk one costly folly

Some people think we should have a $30,000 kiosk for tourists (Journal, Nov. 30). Well, I don’t. It’s a waste of $30,000 that would have to be paid for by taxpayers. We would have to borrow the money from somewhere else, which would put us in more debt. We shouldn’t have it because of the possible vandalism it may receive. It would be different if it was an inside kiosk instead of an outside kiosk, but it’s not. If it got vandalized, we certainly don’t want to pay for something we didn’t do. Lastly, how much would it cost to maintain or repair the kiosk if it breaks or gets vandalized? Brandon George, E.V. Cain student, Auburn
