Three Colfax Jr. Falcons football squads have qualified for the Sacramento Youth Football League’s post-season playoffs which begin this Saturday. In addition, Colfax High School has been selected as one of the semi-final playoff sites with four games slated for 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., and 5 p.m. Two of Colfax’s three playoff qualifiers will play their games on the road as the Jr. Peewees, the No. 4 seed, will meet No. 1 seed Davis at 11 a.m,. at Center High School. The Colfax Jr. Peewees (3-3) will be trying to turn the tables on Davis as they dropped a 39-14 season ending game to the Blue Devils. Also at Center, at 3 p.m., Colfax’s Jr. Midgets (4-2) will meet Golden Sierra (5-1) in a semi-final game. Golden Sierra also defeated Colfax in a close game in their regular season meeting. Meanwhile, at Colfax High, at 5 p.m., the Colfax Midgets (4-1-1) will take on Vista del Lago of Folsom (4-2). In other regular season ending games last week, Colfax’s Peewees dropped a 12-6 decision to Davis and finished the season with a 1-4-1 record. Colfax’s Jr. Midgets, however, upended the Blue Devils 36-30 in a five-overtime marathon and the Colfax Midgets stopped Davis, 16-6.
