Anyone who thinks that a Wal-Mart would be good for Auburn should see the DVD, “Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price.” It really opened my eyes, showing small town after small town fall apart after the retail giant moved in. The prices on homes went down even before the stores opened, as it was known that the small stores would be closed down due to the competition coming from Wal-Mart. They encourage their employees to go on public assistance rather than cover their health insurance. We, the taxpayers, are the ones paying for the health of their employees, while the Wal-Mart family is one of the richest families in the world. We need to fight back and not allow them to ruin our small town. Ruth Krasner, Auburn
