Workshop offers insight into National Register

-A +A
Auburn residents have a chance Thursday to learn how to get their historic property recognized. From 9 a.m. to noon in the Rose Room at Auburn City Hall community members can attend a National Register workshop that is planned to give a full introduction on the State Office of Historic Preservation’s nomination processes. “This is a good nuts and bolts type of session that would provide owners of historic properties, of which there are many in Placer County, some straight forward answers and information,” said Michael Otten, president of the Placer County Historical Society. “This could involve residences, commercial or public property.” Also at the event, attendees can learn about other programs, such as California Historical Landmarks, California Points of Historical Interest and the California Register of Historical Resources, Otten said. For more information, contact Otten at (530) 888-7837, e-mail otten@ssctv.net or e-mail Councilman Mike Holmes at njrhs@inreach.com. ~Staff report
