The world is God’s

Your cartoon of an angel looking up to heaven on “Visual Viewpoint,” (Journal, Aug. 23) surely encouraged me to write the following letter: “The earth is the Lord’s and everything on it, the world and all who live in it,” Psalms 24:1. This tells me that we need to tread carefully when we set God aside. All that is happening in our country and the world can’t be blamed on any one group or person. Because of that, we turn to looking to “Mother Earth,” instead of acknowledging that God is in control and that the earth is the Lord. “Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; God lifts His voice, and the earth melts,” Psalms 46:6. So much more can be read regarding God’s actions. Even though there are those who don’t believe the Bible, we have here some “food for thought.” “But the Lord is the true God … when He is angry, the earth trembles,” Jeremiah 10:10. Read on, if you like, and continue to see God showing his wrath at our setting him aside in our country, in our schools and in our society! God will not be mocked. He is in control and will continue to show himself! Elly Derr, Auburn
