Kaitlin Woytus of Auburn Gymnastics Center celebrated on Saturday after winning not one, not two but three state titles at her gymnastics state championships in Visalia. “We are crazy happy for her,” Natalie Otis, coach at Auburn Gymnastics Center said. “She started the meet off with a huge score on vault of 9.5 and continued on to get a 9.55 on bars, a 9.5 on beam and a 9.275 on floor. What a meet it was for her. She was amazing and we are very proud.” Woytus, a 13-year-old eighth grader at E.V. Cain, scored a total of 37.825 out of 40 and took home the gold on vault, bars and in the all-around and medaling on every event while snagging three USA Gymnastics gold medals to add to her collection. “It was exciting because right up to the end of awards she hadn’t realized she had won and the look on her face was priceless when she realized she had just been awarded state champion,” Otis said. Teammate Cassidy Noreen and Shelby Jungers also scored big with Noreen earning a 37.575 and placing on beam (9.575) and floor (9.35). Jungers earned a 36.975 with a 9.075 on vault, 8.9 on bars, 9.55 on beam and a 9.45 on floor. More than 60 competitors from X-Cel gold to platinum competed at the five-hour event on Saturday. The team along with additional compulsory and optional gymnasts will showcase their skills on June 11 during an in-house gymnastics competition for level 1 to 4 gymnasts attending Auburn Gymnastics Center.
