The 57th annual Tevis Cup Ride started 209 riders early Saturday morning in Robie Park outside of Truckee. One hundred miles later these same riders will try to cross the finish line in Auburn's Gold Country Fairgrounds McCann Stadium. The race that began in 1955 as Wendell Robie proved the trail could be conquered in the modern era. The ride is now a historic endurance test and a remarkable accomplishment for horse and rider. Hundreds of volunteers assist the riders in their quest along the trail. This years Tevis Cup was won by Garrett Ford.
